FD Calculator
Find out what your fixed deposit will be worth at maturity and how much it really earns after income tax.
How this calculator works
Most banks compound FD interest every quarter: Maturity = P × (1 + r/4)4 × years. The interest is then reduced by tax at your slab rate plus 4% cess to show your post-tax return.
Things to keep in mind
- At the 30% slab, a 7% FD earns under 5% after tax, below long-term inflation.
- For goals 3+ years away, debt or hybrid mutual funds may be more tax-efficient. Ask us to compare.
- Split large FDs into smaller ones so you can break one without losing interest on all.
